What I Learned From Altitude Sickness
This is going to be a shorter newsletter than usual because I’m currently struggling with altitude sickness. I live below sea level in New Orleans, so coming to Denver for the week has been tough. That being said, I’ve learned some valuable lessons from being in this weakened state:
Everything is temporary. Even though it felt like my nausea/headache/other gross stuff would last forever, I could focus on my breathing and try to move through the pain.
It’s a small sacrifice for the animals. As much pain as I’ve been in, I know what the animals go through on a daily basis is far worse. Additionally, they can’t see a way out of their suffering, whereas I know that mine is going to end.
My new coworkers at Pro-Animal Future have gone above and beyond to help me. It feels great to have a team who I know will support me through tough times, especially since our fight against factory farming is just beginning.
That’s all I can write today, but thank you for the support!
Natalie
